- Camino time is getting closer, backpacks are getting heavier, almost ready to start taking things out to lighten the load. We did a Mother's Day training hike of 16.5 miles and over 2,000ft elevation gain with our packs and were beat when we got back...and only two plus weeks till we leave for Madrid. Check back around June first if you want to follow our Camino adventures.
ONE STEP AT A TIME # 3 Al and i will be following the Northern or Costal route "Camino El Norte" beginning in Irun at the French border to Villaviciosa where the Primitive route splits off to the southwest through Lugo to meet Camino Francis at Arzua then on to Santiago de Compostela. Its been two years and one heart attack since our last Camino. We are looking forward to being back on the Camino by the end of May.
