We woke at 0800 and began our short journey to the Guggenheim around 9AM finding coffee and sweet rolls along the way. It was fun watching the town wake up after partying till 3AM. We passed a Sunday flower mart that was quite busy. Part of visiting the Guggenheim is appreciating the architecture itself. The 2nd floor was closed until June 12th when Jeff Koons's display would open. The 3rd floor contained a 200+ piece exhibit of Niki de Saint Phalle. The exhibit was not only stunning but eye opening. Quite avant-garde! Very interesting woman. Google her and see if Netflix has her 1st film "Daddy". Outside the museum is Koons's Puppy (1992) which is JoLinda's favorite. JL has posted a lot of pictures to Facebook which I have shared. If we are not friends and you would like to see them friend one of us and we will accept you.
From the Guggenheim we walked to the Plaza Moyua and down the Lopez de Haro finding our way back to the Rio de Bilboa and a very large outdoor book fair where many authors were present and signing for buyers. Very cool.
We continued the rest of the day doing tourist things at a slow pace, enjoying our day of rest.
