Walking Day 2. San Sebastián to Zarautz

21.5km,  5hrs 56 mins,  674 m elevation gained with a total max elevation of 315 m.  so sort of like the Catalina ridge plus. It's a bummer my great pictures are not uploading.  I'm not much with words so have always relied on pictures.  I have the blogger help guy working on it but until the problem gets identified I'm stuck with no pictures .

The day was spent in the mist, clouds and fog.   Left San Sebastián after coffee in a little cafe by climbing 100's and 100s  of steps which turned into cement then assault country roads narrowing into dirt single tracks, then rocky paths leading up then down and back up for miles all in the mist and very steep.

Good things , absolutely stunning scenery, beautiful chirping bird sound, braying donkeys, huge black and white bunnies, cows and cow bells, horses, ponies, work horses, chickens and roosters running free, this part of the Spanish coast is totally green.  Woods run all the way down close to the water with beautiful farm houses sparked here and there with terraced gardens and barns on the hill sides.   Walking through the woods is like walking through "hobbit" lands.  No blisters yet. Got in by 2:00.

Bad things:   The miles of rocky paths both up and down.   Today the rocks were between a half and 3 ft. Smooth and slippery with lots of spaces between to get your feet twisted in, pictures wouldn't even begin to show what it's like and relentless hills.

What a surprise Zarautz was.  A favorite so far.  Open surf beach along the entire town with miles of Malacon., cement and board walks.  We ended up getting a Pension for the night not much more than the youth hostel but so much cooler.  We also had the best  menus of the Day for $ 11 eur.  Awesome fresh salad with Shrimp then a main course of fish plus wine and best flan ever.  I had  creamy flava bean soup and stuffed Pimentos.  You have to love Spain.  The Rest. name is Egoki in case you are ever here.

I posted the track on Strav on Face book and thinking of just posting an album on Facebook and adding to it every day if the Bligh doesn't get straightened out.
